Sports Coach Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Children's Sports Coach to join our team in the Wellingborough and surrounding areas (Northampton & Rushden etc). The Sports Coach will be responsible for delivering fun sports coaching sessions to primary school-aged children during after-school clubs (between the hours of pm) and also lunch time sessions (between the hours of 12pm-1pm). This position offers up to 11 hours per week during term time, with additional school holiday sessions and weekend coaching available as well. There is and always will be a clear pathway for progression to increase hours throughout the school year aiming towards a full-time role within R&D Coaching.

  • Conduct sports coaching sessions for primary school-aged children in a fun and enjoyable manner.
  • Ensure sessions are well-structured, safe, and inclusive for all participants.
  • Adapt coaching techniques to cater to the varying skill levels of the children.
  • Maintain a positive and encouraging environment to foster skill development and enjoyment.
  • Collaborate with school staff and parents to provide feedback on participants' progress.

Experience:

- Prior experience working with children in a school environment is preferred.

- Possessing a valid 1st aid certificate and safeguarding certificate is required (we can guide you on how to get these)

- Minimum Level 1 NGD coaching qualification required. (we can also guide you on how to obtain this)

This position is ideal for individuals looking to start their coaching career or coaches looking to become full time with us further down the line. The position is part time to start with but will have scope to progress the hours into a full time position throughout the school year. Candidates must be reliable, punctual, and have their own car.
