Overview

The Bildeston Crown is a 15th century former coaching inn and 2 AA rosette, 4 AA star Inn, set in the historic Suffolk Village of Bildeston. It is part of the Nedging Hall Estate, a family owned Estate in Suffolk, which includes a collection of pubs, an exclusive-use country house and a brewery.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant General Manager to join our senior management team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive high end restaurant experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee daily operations, supervise staff, and ensure the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained. The Assistant General Manager will play a pivotal role in supporting the General Manager and contributing to the overall success of our establishment.

Duties

  • Assist in managing daily restaurant operations, ensuring smooth service delivery and adherence to company policies.
  • Supervise and motivate team members, fostering a positive working environment and promoting teamwork.
  • Support staff training programmes, including serving, hospitality, and culinary skills development.
  • Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and oversee stock control to minimise waste.
  • Handle customer enquiries and resolve any issues promptly to ensure excellent guest experiences.
  • Assist in organising staff schedules, optimise labour costs, and monitor performance metrics.
  • Contribute to marketing initiatives and promotional activities to enhance the establishment's reputation.

Requirements

  • Proven supervising experience within a restaurant or hospitality environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively.
  • Experience in serving, hospitality, or hotel settings is highly desirable.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently under pressure.
  • Previous experience with restaurant or hotel management.
  • A proactive approach with excellent communication skills and a passion for delivering outstanding service. This role is ideal for candidates who thrive in fast-paced environments and are committed to maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction within the hospitality industry.
