Business Support Assistant

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed individual into our Business Support team, initially supporting the administration of Public Protection, including the processing of food and Trading Standards inspections.
The post holder will be a key member of the team and will take on a wide range of technical administrative tasks to support these services and the residents of York.
The role requires effective, tactful, and diplomatic interpersonal and communications skills as you will be dealing with customers at all levels throughout the council. You will be dealing with confidential and sensitive information daily.
The successful candidate will work effectively and flexibly within a team as well as on their own initiative to meet operational needs.
The post holder will need to demonstrate organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise workloads, good time keeping and task management.
Successful candidates will have the ability to suggest improvements and be responsive to change whilst working wthin a service that continues to develop and adapt working practices.
A good understanding and/or experience of using bespoke systems along with Microsoft Office 365 would be beneficial for this role.
This hybrid role will require office working within the Eco Depot Hazel Court, York offices.
This role is suitable as a job share opportunity.

Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
