The role/Purpose

We are seeking a Garment Tech / QC. The Business is a market leader in the eveningwear and Bridal sector and is known for a strong aesthetic.

This is physical role within the Jenny Packham Atelier that will demand strong organisational skills. You will be working across multiple collections at one time, making sure the Garments are checked, and altered to a high standard, liaising with machinist in the studio on In House sampling, liaising with factories regarding any alterations for pre-production.

This role will be based at the head office in London (Gospel Oak).

What you will be doing:

  • Looking after and maintaining each style in the collection as they arrive from the factories.
  • Keeping a cohesive log of the samples as they arrive to help maintain workflow.
  • Attend Showings of each style to the Design Team, take notes of any or all alterations that is required.
  • Implement hand beading alterations that are required in house, working alongside our in-house Hand Sewer to process that alterations.
  • Implement any machine alterations required with the Machining Team.
  • Work closely with Atelier Team on the processing of each Collection through the room, ready for photoshoots, hand sewing, beading and application of motifs to in house sampling process.
  • Work on special projects and garments as they come up.
  • Liaise with factories on all alterations made so they are aware head of the production process.
  • Help maintain the Critical Path across all Collections being processed through the Atelier.
  • Liaise with Sampling co-ordinators on the purchasing of any Raw materials for In-house samples, special projects etc... that is required for any alterations.
  • Access of PLM system to log samples.
  • Access of Sampling Intranet system to keep the flow of information moving across all Departments, as and when needed.

What we need from you:

  • A practical mindset, good at problem solving with a '
    can-do'
    positive attitude.
  • Good organisational skills are a must.
  • Exceptional hand sewing skills for hand beading and garment finishing.
  • General knowledge of garment construction is a must
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure.
  • Methodical and well organised with a good eye for detail.
  • Computer literate, with confidence in using MS Office suite (Word, Excel etc) and
  • Adobe creative suite is a must; any PLM system experience is preferred but not necessary.
  • Strong communication and people skills, good at building inter-departmental relationships.
  • A collaborative and flexible approach to work alone but also as part of the wider team.
