Background

Lateral Dx performs contract development of lateral flow tests. Our customers are companies and organizations who are looking to develop lateral flow tests. We develop tests for a wide range of applications including human clinical, environmental and agriculture/aquaculture.

Role of Development Scientist

Lateral Dx requires the services of a Development Scientist, on a permanent basis, who has experience of developing lateral flow tests. The Scientist will be responsible for planning and completing laboratory work within the Technical team. The Scientist is expected to plan, complete, analyze, troubleshoot and write-up experiments accurately utilising approved formats to ensure appropriate labbook completion. In addition, the role will require flexibility to work in other Technical areas such as QC, Compliance and Manufacture.

Position Overview:

  • The Scientist reports to the R&D Manager
  • The Scientist will be responsible for lateral flow test Product Development

Role Requirements

  • Design, conduct and write-up experiments as per company Quality procedures
  • Prepare presentation data for customer
  • Perform batch and component QC as per company procedures
  • Preparation of test components and buffers

Roles & responsibilities:

  • Conduct research and development (R&D) to Quality and Health & Safety requirement
  • Write and update company technical documentation, including manufacture and QC SOP's and record
  • Make technical presentations to R&D Manager, CEO and Customers, as required
  • Ensure day to day maintenance of a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness in the Laboratory
  • General laboratory duties including cleaning, calibration and maintenance of equipment

Technical skills

  • Practical laboratory experience
  • Product development experience
  • Proven capability in lateral flow test development
  • Competent in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Desired background

  • Graduate in technical discipline. (e.g. Biotechnology, Chemistry, microbiology)
  • Experience in diagnostics industry
  • Lateral flow development experience, ideally from CDMO organisation
  • Demonstrated capability with customer support an advantage
  • Lab experience essential

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £25,000.00-£40,000.00 per year

  • Bachelor's (preferred)

  • Lateral flow development: 2 years (required)
