Role Description

Lateral Dx is seeking a Lateral Flow Development Scientist for an exciting on-site, full-time role located in Alloa. The role involves designing, developing, and optimizing lateral flow assays to meet project objectives. The scientist will conduct experiments, analyze data, and troubleshoot issues to improve product performance. Collaboration with other team members and documentation of outcomes are key aspects of the role. Additional responsibilities may include evaluating materials, ensuring quality standards, and contributing to technology transfer for scale-up manufacturing.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in lateral flow assay development, including assay design, optimization, and troubleshooting
  • Strong skills in protein conjugation and antibody pairing techniques for diagnostic applications
  • Experience in data analysis, experimental design, and documentation in a scientific setting
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality control in assay production
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a laboratory environment
  • Ph.D. or Master's degree in Biochemistry, Biological Sciences, or a related field; equivalent experience will also be considered
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting and presentations
  • Prior experience in diagnostic sectors such as veterinary, environmental, or clinical testing is advantageous
