This entry-level role will be support the Group Sustainability Programmes team to deliver its objectives, programmes and projects. The Sustainability Programmes team owns and develops the social and environmental sustainability strategies for Vodafone Group, in close collaboration with a wide set of stakeholders across functions and markets. The successful candidate for this role will be responsible for project coordination and project management support, knowledge management, drafting briefings for senior management and leaders, conducting research and analysis, drafting deliverables under the direction of programme managers, internal management reporting and delivery of team operational and administrative tasks.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience and skills for developing a career in corporate sustainability. It will provide exposure to senior-level experts on a range of social and environmental sustainability topics such as climate change, circular economy, nature and biodiversity, and digital inclusion.

  • Research & analysis: Conduct research and analysis to support the development of Vodafone's social and environmental sustainability strategies, such as industry competitor benchmarking studies, horizon-scanning or market trend analyses, analysis of Vodafone ESG performance data, evaluation or quantification of business value or benefits of sustainability
  • Drafting deliverables: Support the drafting of deliverables as part of environmental and social sustainability projects, strategy development, risk management or issue resolution, as directed by the Group environment and social sustainability managers or specialists
  • Hymn sheets: Develop and maintain a library of hymn sheets on environmental and social sustainability topics, outlining Vodafone's position on sustainability topics of interest to our internal and external stakeholders
  • Speaker briefings: Prepare and/or input into briefings for speaking engagements to be delivered by Vodafone's senior leaders or senior management on sustainability-related topics
  • Project management support and project coordination: Support on-time delivery of sustainability projects by assisting with project coordination, project management, liaising with stakeholders, and project administration
  • Programmes monitoring and reporting: Coordinate activities to establish and maintain regular quarterly monitoring of sustainability programmes, including risk and issue tracking
  • Team operations support & admin: Support the sustainability programmes team's workflow, task prioritisation and backlog management; budget management and reconciliation processes; internal management reporting; administrative tasks; and organisation of sustainability programmes team meetings

Who You Are

  • Strong organisation and project management skills.
  • Experience working in a multi-national and cultural environment
  • Passion for learning and ability to learn quickly
  • Demonstrated basic knowledge of sustainability topics (social and environmental), applied in the context of projects (academic, professional or volunteering)
  • Excellent verbal and written communicator with strong collaboration and interpersonal skills to engage, manage and influence a wide range of stakeholders
  • A demonstrated passion for driving businesses towards a more sustainable future, demonstrated through academic study, professional or volunteering activities
  • A bachelor's degree or professional qualification in a sustainability-related field
  • Experience of working within in a large, matrixed organisation
