About Art Intel Technologies Ltd

ArtIntel is an Oxford University spinout applying machine learning and data intelligence to art investment, delivering transparency, valuation clarity, and institutional-grade analytics to an underserved private market. Our research identifies the specific factors that influence value formation and quantifies their relative impact. Working alongside leading AI scientists at the University of Oxford, we are building a next-generation analytics platform that supports informed investment decisions and enhances market transparency.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Analyst with a strong background in the art market and/or finance, combined with demonstrable experience in data analysis. This role will lead the analytical team and work closely with machine learning specialists at Oxford to develop the ArtIntel analytics tool. The successful candidate will translate market expertise into analytical frameworks, guide data strategy, and shape the development of institutional-grade analytics for the art market. They will collect and structure complex datasets that influence value formation, identify patterns in how value is determined, and co-create an AI model that replicates the decision-making of a human analyst.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead analytical development for the Art Intel platform, defining meaningful market metrics, valuation frameworks, and forecasting structures.
  • Collect, clean, and structure complex data relevant to art investment, including factors influencing value formation.
  • Identify patterns and insights from historical and contemporary data to inform model development.
  • Collaborate closely with Oxford-based machine learning researchers to co-create AI models that replicate human analyst behaviour.
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of contemporary art and comparable private markets.
  • Produce clear reports to support internal decisions, investor materials, and client-facing outputs.
  • Guide junior team members and contribute to product roadmap discussions.
  • Monitor market trends and transaction behaviour relevant to investment decision-making.
  • Assist in testing and validating machine learning models, providing domain expertise for refinement.

Requirements

  • Experience in the art market (auction houses, galleries, advisory, market research) or finance (investment analysis, private markets, data-driven research).
  • Understanding of the value formation process in the art market.
  • Understanding of art-market transaction structures, primary/secondary market dynamics, and price formation patterns.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with data analysis.
  • Ability to translate market behaviour into structured analytical and modelling requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with cross-disciplinary teams, ideally including data scientists or engineers.
  • Self-directed, organised, and comfortable in a fast-moving, early-stage environment.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of econometrics, forecasting, or alternative asset analysis.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML concepts or previous work in a data-driven tech environment.
