Job Summary

Dance&Arts LTD is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Dance/Zumba Instructor to lead our afterschool club in a primary school in Peckham, South East London. This role is ideal for someone who loves fitness and movement and wants to share their passion for dance with young students.

You will deliver high-energy Dance/Zumba sessions that promote cardiovascular fitness, coordination, and rhythm in a fun, non-judgmental environment. The focus is on engaging all students through varied dance styles and routines. The position is paid and suitable for both experienced instructors and dynamic new teachers eager to develop their skills.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver dynamic, age-appropriate Dance and/or Zumba sessions for KS2 pupils (ages 8–11).
  • Teach basic dance steps, fun choreography, and rhythmic movements.
  • Ensure sessions are inclusive and adaptable to different energy levels and abilities.
  • Inspire students to participate fully, build confidence, and enjoy physical activity.
  • Maintain a positive, enthusiastic, and structured classroom atmosphere.
  • Communicate effectively with school staff and the Dance&Arts coordination team.
  • Follow safeguarding and health & safety standards, with a focus on safe movement and hydration.

Experience and Skills

  • Experience teaching or leading dance/fitness classes with children preferred.
  • Strong knowledge and proficiency in Dance and/or Zumba styles suitable for young children.
  • Excellent communication, energy, and classroom management skills.
  • Enthusiastic, reliable, and passionate about inspiring fitness through movement.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Qualifications in Dance or Zumba instruction are desirable but not required.

Job Type: Freelance

Pay: £35.00 per hour
