We're looking for a motivated and detail driven Assistant Accountant to join our growing team at Emtec Climate Solutions. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, this is a hands-on role where you'll be involved in all areas of day to day finance.

You'll take ownership of purchase ledger, credit control, reconciliations, invoicing, and cash posting, while also supporting with weekly payment runs and margin analysis. You'll gain significant exposure to a wide range of tasks and be encouraged to take on responsibility early, making this an excellent opportunity to accelerate your career in Finance.

Your responsibilities:

Core finance tasks

  • Manage purchase ledger and process supplier invoices
  • Prepare and issue sales invoices accurately and in a timely manner
  • Carry out credit control to ensure payments are collected promptly
  • Post daily cash transactions
  • Support with weekly payment runs
  • Review, process and pay staff expenses
  • P&L/Balance sheet checks and reconciliations

Reconciliations and reporting

  • Complete reconciliations between different reporting systems
  • Post and reconcile cash transactions
  • Assist in preparing monthly reporting packs
  • Carry out margin analysis on all jobs/projects to support decision making and performance analysis

Collaboration and development

  • Work closely with the Finance Manager for guidance and mentorship
  • Take initiative to suggest process improvements where possible
  • Support adhoc finance tasks and projects as the business grows

What we're looking for:

Experience and qualifications

  • 6+ months experience in an Accounts role is essential
  • Recently completed AAT Level 3 or Level 4, or CIMA Certificate Level
  • Experience with Xero or similar
  • Experience with JobLogic would be advantageous
  • Good knowledge of Excel (functions, lookups, presentation)
  • Proficient with MS Office (Teams, OneDrive, Word, PowerPoint)
