Joining our Schools Library Service Team

Our team members provide an important service to the community providing a quality, efficient and reliable service to pupils and teaching staff across the borough and beyond. Welcoming and assisting teaching staff to make effective use of the range of services and facilities available, whilst promoting and advocating the arts, cultural events and activities, selecting resources that support the curriculum and encouraging reading for pleasure.

Customer care and effective communication is central to our service along with technology use to enable learning.

Day to day you can expect to be responding to a wide range of enquires, membership, discharging and shelving books, stock checks, delivering group sessions on books, assisting with the use of technology and general administration.

Important information

A full driving licence is required: The role supports our schools with a book collection and delivery service across St Helens and the wider region which will involve travel.

Part time fixed hours: The pro rata salary for the 18.5 hours is £12,592.50 per annum.

Hours of work are Tuesday and Thursday 9.15am - 2.00pm and Wednesday & Friday 9.30am - 2.00pm each week.
