Due to internal movement within the service, we're excited to offer opportunities for passionate individuals to join our team as Homelessness Prevention Officers.

We have two permanent positions available and one 12 month maternity cover position available.

In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive housing advice across a range of options, including private rentals, owner-occupied properties, and social housing allocations. You'll play a key part in preventing homelessness through early intervention, mediation, and proactive casework.

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Passionate about making a real difference in the lives of people facing homelessness.
  • Proactive and able to manage their own caseload effectively.
  • Knowledgeable, with a strong understanding of housing and homelessness legislation, including the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 and Children Act 1989.
  • Creative and solution-focused, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experienced in building and maintaining strong working relationships with partners and stakeholders.

You'll be responsible for investigating homelessness applications and making decisions in line with current legislation. A commitment to ongoing learning and participation in relevant training is essential.
