Our client, an established London City practice, is expanding their dispute resolution team and seeking a talented solicitor with 3-5 years PQE to handle high-quality, complex civil and commercial litigation. About the Role
As a Dispute Resolution Solicitor, you'll manage your own varied caseload of contentious matters, providing strategic advice to clients whilst representing them through negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and court proceedings. You'll work autonomously on complex disputes whilst contributing to the firm's growth and development.
 
Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Managing a diverse caseload including contract disputes, contentious private client matters, property disputes, debt recovery, shareholder and partnership disputes, and other civil litigation
  • Advising clients on risk management strategies, dispute avoidance, and the most commercially viable course of action
  • Representing clients in court proceedings, mediations, arbitrations, and settlement negotiations
  • Drafting and reviewing high-quality legal documents, including pleadings, witness statements, settlement agreements, and client correspondence
  • Providing clear, strategic and commercially-aware advice tailored to individual client needs
  • Contributing to business development activities, including networking and building lasting client relationships
  • Mentoring and supporting junior team members as the practice continues to grow
  • Staying current with developments in dispute resolution, Civil Procedure Rules, and alternative dispute resolution processes
What You'll Need
Essential Requirements:
  • Qualified Solicitor with 3-5 years PQE in dispute resolution or civil litigation
  • Strong technical knowledge of dispute resolution processes, including court procedures, mediation, and arbitration
  • Excellent negotiation and advocacy skills, with demonstrable experience handling complex and high-value disputes
  • Exceptional drafting ability with meticulous attention to detail in preparing legal documents and correspondence
  • Proven track record of managing a busy caseload independently whilst consistently meeting deadlines
  • Outstanding client care and communication skills, with a focus on delivering strategic, commercially viable advice
  • Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to business development
  • Strong IT proficiency and familiarity with case management systems
  • Flexible, pragmatic, and results-driven approach to dispute resolution
Highly Desirable:
  • Contested probate experience
  • Property dispute experience
