Tameside, United Kingdom Home Instead Full time
Job Description

At Home Instead Manchester Central & Tameside, we support people in our local community to stay at home, where they feel happiest and most comfortable. We are looking for people to visit local clients in Tameside during evenings and weekends, with some travel to Stockport required.

You must be able to commit to 7am - 2:15pm or 4:15pm/5:30pm - 10:15pm. All include alternate weekends. You'll start with a lighter schedule while we bring new clients on board, giving you the perfect opportunity to ease into the role and build your hours steadily over time.

At Home Instead, we understand that delivering top-quality care can't be done in just 15-minute visits, and no one should feel rushed. That's why we offer a minimum of 1-hour visits, along with appropriate travel time, so you can give your clients the attention they deserve, with mileage reimbursement included. We carefully pair our Care Professionals with clients based on skills, personality, and interests. For all initial visits with new clients, you'll be introduced with the support of a colleague, ensuring you have the opportunity to truly understand your client and their needs.

Benefits:

  • £13.00-£14.00 per hour plus 35p per mile.
  • £26.00-£28.00 per hour on bank holidays.
  • Access to early pay scheme - be paid up to 50% of your monthly earnings instantly.
  • Paid face-to-face training delivered by a Registered Nurse.
  • No uniform, stay comfortable in casual dress alongside your free Home Instead satchel, ID badge and PPE.
  • Gain qualifications - you will earn your Care Certificate, and have the option to undertake your Level 2 or 3 Diploma, or City & Guilds certificates.
  • Opportunities for career progression - many of our office staff initially joined us as Care Professionals.
  • Refer a Friend Bonus - you and your friend will earn £250 EACH per referral.
  • Access to Blue Light Card and Home Instead discounts.
  • We pay for your enhanced DBS check.

Responsibilities as a Domiciliary Home Care Assistant:

  • Support with household tasks such as tidying, cleaning and laundry.
  • Make, or assist to make your client's favourite meals.
  • Offer companionship and social support, engaging with your client's hobbies and getting to know what they enjoy most.
  • Support with personal care tasks such as showering and getting ready.
  • Take your client out to places of their choice, e.g. to the local shops or a garden centre.
  • Write accurate daily notes and report any concerns as per company procedure.
  • Administer medication and record appropriately.

Requirements:

  • Experience is not required due to our comprehensive in-house training. However, any previous care experience either professional or personal is an advantage.
  • You must have a full driver's licence and your own vehicle.
  • You must be reliable and punctual to ensure we can continue to provide an excellent service to our clients.
  • Must have a caring, friendly personality and be happy to have a chat.
  • Must be available to work at least 3 weekdays as well as alternate weekends.
