Due to increased workloads an opportunity has arisen to recruit a Revenues Officer post in the Council Tax team on a full time, temporary basis, working on Preston correspondence. This is a great team, whose responsibility for the collection of council tax promptly and efficiently is crucial to the Council, given current budgetary pressures.
Duties include:
- Dealing with customer correspondence and information from other sources in relation to the administration, billing and collection of Council Tax.
- Work as part of a team administering recovery procedures and attend Magistrates Court as required.
- Maintenance of an online computerised system, including the verification and processing of applications for exemption/discount and disregards for Council Tax.
We are looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated candidate, who can manage their own workload, to join this small but successful team. Communication skills and a customer care attitude are considered a necessity for this post. Academy systems are used for processing information, and we use the NEC/Enterprise document management. Some hybrid working is optional.
