Part-Time Marketing Assistant (12-Month Fixed Term – Maternity Cover)

Location: Hybrid – Home + Yeovil, Taunton & Barnstaple

Hours: 25 hours per week (flexible pattern available)

We're SCC Toyota – a family-run Toyota retailer with centres in Yeovil, Taunton and Barnstaple – and we're looking for a capable Marketing Assistant to support our Group Marketing Manager during maternity leave.

This isn't just any marketing role. We're looking for someone who:

• Already has strong creative skills
• Can confidently use Adobe Creative Cloud, social platforms, and digital tools
• Can produce content within brand frameworks.
• Can step into an active, fast-moving marketing function and keen to learn.
• Familiar with both Windows and Mac OS

The role is hybrid, with most work completed from home. You'll visit our centres for filming, events, photography, or meetings—and we'll cover all travel costs.

What you'll do

You'll support the Group Marketing Manager across a wide range of day-to-day marketing activity, including:

• Creating content for social media, email campaigns, paid ads, and website updates
• Designing simple assets such as social graphics, posters, event materials, and on-site signage
• Editing or assisting with short-form videos for organic and paid content
• Scheduling and managing posts through Meta Business Suite / Business Manager and other social platforms
• Managing updates to email communications (customer campaigns, event invites, etc.)
• Supporting with on-site filming days, new vehicle launches, and customer stories
• Helping to coordinate print runs, photography, signage, and suppliers
• Assisting with experiential placements such as local county shows, sports events, and community displays — helping set up vehicle showcases, branded stands, and supporting on-the-day activity
• Keeping campaign reporting and admin organised and up to date

You'll be involved in everything from day-to-day marketing tasks to end-to-end campaign delivery—working closely with our Marketing Manager to keep things running smoothly across our three centres.

What you'll need

We're looking for someone who can hit the ground running. Essential skills include:

Core requirements

• Experience in a marketing, creative, or content-focused role
• Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro and Express)
• Confident working with social media platforms, especially Meta Business Manager
• Experience building or managing email campaigns
• Good copywriting skills and an eye for digital customer journey
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail
• Comfortable juggling multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
• Clear communication skills and a proactive, problem-solving mindset
• Willingness to travel to Yeovil, Taunton, or Barnstaple when required (costs covered)

Desirable

• Experience in automotive or retail marketing
• Video editing skills (short, engaging social content)
• Experience with CRM systems or marketing automation platforms
