Job Description

As a CHECK Team Leader Security Consultant at Forfend, you will play a key role across our full range of services, delivering high quality penetration testing and working closely with management to keep improving how we do things and maintain strong delivery standards.

The role is mainly remote, and we work with clients remotely wherever possible. From time to time, on site work may be needed where remote delivery is not a good fit, and we also enjoy the occasional company day out together when the weather plays nicely.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct penetration tests across a range of environments and technologies
  • Lead engagements and act as a key point of contact for clients throughout delivery
  • Once familiar with our reporting format, perform quality assurance on deliverables to ensure clarity, accuracy, and actionable outcomes
  • Present and discuss findings with stakeholders at varying technical levels, from engineers to senior leadership
  • Support scoping activities and help define appropriate testing approaches for client needs
  • Mentor and support junior consultants in developing their technical and professional skills
  • Assist in improving internal processes, methodologies, and tooling
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing, internal training, and capability development within the team
  • Stay up to date with emerging threats, techniques, and industry trends to ensure delivery remains current and effective

Requirements

  • CTL in either Application and or Infrastructure disciplines
  • SC or DV clearance
  • Strong hands on penetration testing background across varied environments
  • Solid understanding of common attack techniques, tools, and defensive controls
  • Confident working directly with clients and discussing technical findings in a clear, approachable way
  • Strong written communication skills, ideally with experience producing clear and actionable reports
  • Ability to mentor and support junior testers, helping them grow their skills and confidence
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment, managing your time and scope effectively
  • Positive, collaborative mindset with a willingness to share knowledge and improve processes
  • Keen interest in staying up to date with the latest vulnerabilities, techniques, and testing approaches
