Camberwell Chelsea Wimbledon | Als Tomlison / Anna Blumekon / Levitt Bernstein

The opportunity

Wimbledon College of Arts, part of University of the Arts London, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced practitioner to help shape the future of performance education as a Movement and Intimacy Coordinator.

This is not just a teaching role, it is a chance to pioneer vital approaches to movement and intimacy training, equipping the next generation of actors and performers with the creative, technical and professional skills they need to thrive in today's industry.

You'll join our BA Acting and Performance course, part of our Theatre, Screen & Performance Arts programme, which is dedicated to developing artistic practice, driving contemporary culture, and enabling students to become creative, confident, and articulate storytellers. In this role, you'll lead the coordination, delivery and continual development of movement and intimacy training, teaching physical techniques such as dance, stage combat and body awareness. You'll also choreograph and safely stage intimate scenes, while remaining mindful of the physical and emotional wellbeing of our students.

Working in close collaboration with directors and faculty, you'll play a vital part in rehearsals and productions, ensuring best practice through risk assessments, safety compliance and alignment with professional industry standards.

Your profile

We're seeking a skilled practitioner with a successful track record in actor and movement training, ideally as part of a professional vocational training programme.

Previous experience of teaching and assessment in a Higher Education environment is essential, along with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with students and staff.

Above all, you'll bring a passion for inclusive, student-centred practice, nurturing diverse creative voices and preparing performers for careers in the creative industries.
