As a Data Analyst apprentice (DAA26) at the BBC, you'll join a dynamic, collaborative team where you're learning goes far beyond the basics. You'll work on meaningful projects that shape the BBC's future, while developing cutting-edge skills in areas like machine learning, data visualisation, and ethical data use. You'll work within Sport Growth which sits within the Strategy and Platform teams at BBC Sport. You'll be part of a team analysing and processing data for content across the BBC Sport website, app, iPlayer, and YouTube—providing insights and identifying opportunities to grow our digital platforms.

Your Key Responsibilities And Impact
As a Data Analyst apprentice, this is brilliant opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute – you will:

• Play a key part in driving digital growth through actionable data insights.
• Collaborate with editorial teams to shape the future of BBC Sport's digital presence, contributing to major sports tournaments, and support our SEO strategy.
• Have the opportunity to present findings and recommendations to senior management, helping to inform strategic decisions at the highest level.
• Data Processing with Pandas.
• Data Visualisation.
• Power BI and Tableau.
• Data Science for Business.
• Databases & SQL.
• Text Mining.
• Introduction to Machine Learning.
• Time Series Analysis.
• Data Privacy, Ethics & Regulations.

You'll study for your industry recognised apprenticeship qualification, learning both on and off the job. This means you'll spend at least one day a week studying for a Level 4 Data Analyst qualification from our external Learning Provider. You will be supported with career development, employability training, and networking opportunities to help you take your next step within the BBC or elsewhere in the industry.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
To be eligible for an apprenticeship at the BBC, you must:

• Be 18 years old or over by the time the apprenticeship begins in September 2026
• Have lived in the UK continuously for the last 3 years prior to the start of the apprenticeship
• Be legally eligible to work full-time in the UK for the entire duration of the apprenticeship
• Not currently be enrolled in another apprenticeship programme, whether with the BBC or another organisation
• Not have completed or hold qualifications in the apprenticeship subject at the same or higher level.

To Apply For This Scheme, You Must Also

• Have maths and English GCSE at Grade 4/C or above or National 5 (Scotland) at C or equivalent qualification.
• Have achieved, or expected to achieve, by the start of the scheme A Level/Higher Maths.

The BBC recognises that some people who are applying for a BBC Apprenticeship Scheme may need to relocate to a new location for the role and this might not be possible due to your personal financial constraints. Relocation support is offered to a limited number of apprentices each year and
