Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Years Educator to join our term time only childcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children, supporting their development and learning through engaging activities and making a positive impact on children's early education. The role is suitable for individuals with a genuine interest in childhood development and childcare. The role is 3 days a week, term time only at our Denmead setting with the potential for additional hours across both our Denmead and Cosham settings.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate educational activities that promote cognitive, emotional, and social development.
  • Supervise children during playtime, meals, and rest periods ensuring their safety at all times.
  • Foster a warm, inclusive environment that encourages children's curiosity and independence.
  • Maintain effective communication with parents and guardians regarding children's progress and wellbeing.
  • Follow daily routines and manage setting resources efficiently.
  • Contribute to the ongoing assessment of children's development plans in collaboration with colleagues.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children in a nursery or early childhood setting.
  • Knowledge of early childhood education and childcare regulations preferable.
  • Good levels of communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent are preferred but not essential.
