-- About the Role--

We are looking for a reliable, organised and caring Nursery Housekeeper & Kitchen Assistant to join our team. This role is essential in helping us maintain a warm, safe and clean environment for our children and supporting the smooth running of daily nursery life.

The ideal candidate will be proactive, enjoy working in a busy setting, and take pride in creating a high-standard environment for children and staff.

Start: ASAP

Hours: 8am-6pm (with 1 hour lunch break)

Days: 4 or 5 days a week

Salary: £13 / hr (equivalent to £24.3K for 4 days / £30.4 for 5 days)

Location: SW13 9RZ

-- Key Responsibilities --

Housekeeping & Nursery Support

  • General tidying, cleaning and upkeep of nursery rooms, communal areas and facilities
  • Setting up, clearing and maintaining children's sleeping areas
  • Managing laundry, including washing, drying and organising bedding
  • Assisting with general nursery tasks as needed to ensure the day runs smoothly

Kitchen & Food Preparation

  • Preparing nutritious meals and snacks for children (breakfast, lunch, tea and snacks) following provided menus
  • Serving food to children and supporting mealtimes in rooms
  • Ensuring kitchen and dining areas are kept clean, hygienic and well organised
  • Weekly ordering of groceries, consumables and kitchen supplies

Team Support

  • Providing ad hoc cover for staff during breaks, sickness or when required
  • Working collaboratively with the wider team to maintain a warm, welcoming and safe environment for all children

About You & Requirements

  • Enhanced DBS check
  • Level 2 Cooking/ Hygiene preferred
  • Friendly, reliable and able to work well within a team
  • Organised with good time-management skills
  • Takes initiative and can work independently
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in a nursery, school, kitchen or housekeeping role is helpful but not essential
  • Food hygiene training is an advantage (or willingness to undertake training)
