Join Us During an Exciting Phase of Growth
Our Prema clinic is entering an exciting period of expansion, bringing together world-leading ophthalmic specialists and a growing multi-speciality outpatient model. With our flagship clinic in Portsmouth and new services in development across the South, we are redefining what patient-centred, consultant-led private healthcare looks like, combining clinical excellence, compassion, and innovation.
As part of this next chapter, we are looking for dedicated and motivated Health Care Support Workers (HCSWs) to join our growing team. This is an opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking service where your contribution truly matters, supporting both ophthalmic and general outpatient clinics, and ensuring an exceptional experience for every patient who walks through our doors.
About the Role
The HCSW will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient running of clinics, working closely with Consultants, Optometrists, and the wider clinical team. This varied and hands-on role involves preparing patients, performing diagnostic investigations (such as OCT, visual fields, and fundus photography), assisting with minor procedures, recording clinical observations, and maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, safety, and infection control, making you an integral part of every patient's journey.
What You'll Do
· Support the setup and smooth flow of outpatient clinics.
· Welcome and support patients with warmth and professionalism.
· Assist consultants and nurses during examinations and minor procedures.
· Perform diagnostic tests and basic clinical observations.
· Accurately document results in our digital systems (CareBit).
· Maintain infection control, equipment checks, and stock levels.
· Contribute to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
What We're Looking For
· NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent).
· Experience in a healthcare setting (hospital, GP, or outpatient).
· Excellent communication, organisation, and teamwork skills.
· A compassionate and proactive approach to patient care.
Desirable:
· Experience in ophthalmology or diagnostics.
· Phlebotomy and ECG skills.
Why Join Us?
At Prema, you'll join a close-knit, values-driven team where your development and well-being are prioritised. We offer:
· A supportive and collaborative working environment.
· Opportunities for training and career progression.
· The chance to work with leading consultants and cutting-edge technology.
· Involvement in shaping the future of our expanding outpatient services.
