Customers from different business sectors and levels of government trust our team of 1,250 people for their expertise in R&D, security design, engineering and data-driven insights. We are an integral part of Crane NXT, a $2 billion dollar business with over 5,000 associates

Position Summary & Objective

The Senior QA Software Engineer monitors every phase of the software development process to ensure that the design and software adheres to company standards. This role develops and executes exploratory and automated tests to assess software quality and meet the release target dates by breaking up the development process into attainable testing goals and relaying any issues back to the development and product teams or leaders.

Essential Functions Performed by the Position

  • Partner with Engineering and Tech Leads to design for quality. Your focus is on preventing defects rather than detecting them later in the life cycle
  • Review test coverage across all layers (unit, integration, contracts and end-to-end) to ensure meaningful, maintainable tests
  • Contribute hands-on to raise the Quality bar across multiple teams
  • Comfortable and experienced setting up and amending frameworks and CI/CD pipelines
  • Collaborate with Delivery and Product to define 'what good looks like'
  • Own quality metrics
  • Lead initiatives around quality tooling, test data, environments, performance and security testing
  • Develop and articulate comprehensive testing strategies for new features, products, or system enhancements.
  • Apply design thinking principles to testing—understanding user needs, identifying potential pain points, and ensuring end-to-end quality.
  • Identify and document edge cases, with a focus on system scalability, performance, and maintainability.
  • Collaborate closely with development and product teams to ensure early defect detection and smooth release cycles.
  • Utilize and maintain QA tooling and automation frameworks to enhance testing coverage and efficiency.
  • Track and report on quality metrics, demonstrating measurable improvements such as reduced defect leakage, faster release cycles, and improved customer satisfaction.

Position Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.

 Experience:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience in Quality Assurance or a related role, with a strong background in test strategy, automation, and quality engineering across complex systems.
  • Strong expertise in modern testing tools and technologies, including Playwright, Cypress, Postman, and C#.
  • Exposure to performance and security testing is a plus.
  • Experience with pair programming is preferred, demonstrating collaborative development and testing practices.
  • Proficient in using collaboration and project management tools such as Slack, Microsoft Teams, and Jira.

Certifications/Licenses:

  • Any professional testing certification is a plus.

Language Proficiency:

  • Possess effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal (for non-English speaking countries).

 Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • You are technically astute and comfortable writing code
  • You see yourself as a partner in Engineering, not a gatekeeper
  • You're curious, pragmatic and proactive in raising the quality bar across teams
  • You are experienced in coaching and mentoring QAs and Engineers alike in quality practices

 WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?

  • Work for a market leading, established product company.
  • Nice modern offices with great facilities.
  • Health Insurance.
  • 24 days holidays plus national holidays.
  • Life Insurance.
