Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our Shred-Team as a Transit Van Collection Driver. This role involves operating commercial vehicles, primarily 3.5 tonne transit vans and or 3.5 tonne luton vans, to facilitate the safe and efficient collection of confidential waste paper and IT equipment from homes and offices across the South of England. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, and excellent communication abilities. This is a paid position suitable for those with previous delivery driver experience or warehouse background, eager to contribute to our logistics operations.

Responsibilities

  • Safely drive transit vans in compliance with road safety regulations.
  • Conduct daily inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and operational standards are met.
  • Collect confidential paperwork from various locations efficiently, maintaining timely schedules.
  • Maintain accurate collection documentation and communicate effectively with Clients and the Office.
  • Adhere to all health and safety protocols during driving and loading activities.
  • Support warehouse operations as needed, including unloading vans and sorting waste paper and IT equipment.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in driving commercial vehicles, particularly transit vans.
  • Valid UK driver's licence with no more than 3 points.
  • Prior warehouse experience is advantageous but not essential.
  • Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients and team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate safely under pressure and adhere to schedules.
  • Knowledge of road regulations and safety standards for commercial driving. This role offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic logistics environment, requiring a proactive attitude and commitment to safety standards. Candidates should be organised, dependable, and capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • The job roll is physically demanding due to collecting kg sack of paper per day and requires good levels of fitness and strength.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £12.21 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 45 per week
