Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Van Driver to join our team for holiday cover on a long term basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining a high standard of customer service. This role requires the ability to communicate effectively with warehouse staff and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Safely drive the van to various locations for deliveries and pickups.
  • Load and unload fresh food produce ensuring they are secured properly for transport.
  • Conduct routine checks on the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition, reporting any mechanical issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including times and locations.
  • Communicate effectively with warehouse staff regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving.
  • Assist in warehouse operations when not on the road, including inventory management and organisation of goods.

Skills

  • Proven experience as a Delivery Driver or Van Driver is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial driving regulations and safety standards.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with clients and team members effectively.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team within a warehouse environment.
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and delivery schedules.
