Role Purpose

The British Institute of Innkeeping (BII) is the professional body for individuals working in the licensed hospitality industry and is passionate about its purpose of doing all it can to keep pubs thriving at the heart of every community. As Relationship manager, you will drive growth, engagement, and retention of our diverse membership base. You'll be collaborating with our corporate partners to deepen member value and provide vital insight to further develop member services to ensure the BII remains the trusted voice and support network for hospitality professionals across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead engagement with corporate customers and stakeholders
  • Design & deliver member engagement campaigns, events, and communications in partnership with our amazing comms and membership teams
  • Monitor member satisfaction and feedback to inform continuous improvement, gaining insight from members and customers directly
  • Champion the development of tailored benefits, resources, and support services
  • Identify new market segments and partnership opportunities to expand
  • Drive revenue growth through innovative membership packages and upsell opportunities
  • Collaborate with marketing and partnerships teams to optimise reach to potential new members
  • Build strong relationships with industry stakeholders, regional groups, and corporate partners
  • Represent BII at industry events, forums, and trade shows

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Proven track record in membership development, business development, or customer relationship management
  • Strong understanding of the hospitality sector and its challenges
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Organised mindset with the ability to self-manage time and diary commitments
  • Experience of managing large customer accounts and working remotely
  • Full driving license
  • Passion for supporting people and businesses in hospitality
