London, Greater London, United Kingdom Zedsen Full time £80,000 - £120,000 per year

Who we are

Zedsen is a cutting-edge health technology startup based in London, focused on transforming breast cancer detection through our innovative, non-invasive

sensor technology. Our proprietary sensors and advanced data algorithms

enable us to detect subtle changes in breast tissue, offering a safer, accessible,

and cost-effective alternative to traditional screening methods. Our mission is to

provide early and accurate breast cancer screening solutions, accessible

globally, to improve patient outcomes, reduce healthcare costs, and enhance

the overall quality of care. By developing scalable technology that can be widely

implemented, we aim to make a measurable impact on the way breast cancer is

detected and managed worldwide.

What You'll Do

Building breakthrough sensing technologies takes tight coordination between hardware, signal processing, and algorithms—and that's where you come in. You'll be at the heart of our electronics development, leading verification and validation of current designs and prototypes, turning real-world performance data into insight, and pushing the next generation of improvements across every layer of the system (from analogue sensor arrays and PCBs to filtering and ASICs).

As a senior member of the team, you'll shape how we design, test, and evolve our hardware systems. You'll model great engineering practices, ensure compliance with medical standards (IEC 60601, ISO 14971, ISO 13485), and help foster a culture of open collaboration and continuous learning. You'll mentor engineers, share knowledge generously, and help turn bold ideas into robust, life-changing, and inclusive solutions.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead design and development of analogue and mixed-signal electronic systems for medical sensing applications
  • Own schematic design, component selection, and PCB layout (Altium or equivalent)
  • Develop and maintain verification and validation plans for hardware subsystems
  • Analyse and improve sensor performance, noise characteristics, and signal quality
  • Collaborate closely with firmware, mechanical, and algorithm teams to ensure seamless system performance
  • Drive design reviews, risk assessments, and documentation in line with ISO 13485 and ISO 14971
  • Engage with test houses and certification partners to ensure compliance with IEC 60601 and other relevant standards

Essential Requirements

  • 10–15 years' experience

in electronic hardware design, with at least
5 years in medical or other regulated systems

.
- Deep understanding of
analogue and mixed-signal design

, especially for sensing, low-noise front ends, and signal integrity.
- Strong command of
EMC design

and mitigation techniques.
- Experience taking hardware through
IEC 60601

compliance and verification.
- Skilled in
schematic capture and PCB layout review

(Altium or equivalent).
- Familiarity with
risk management (ISO 14971)

and design control processes.
- Working knowledge of
embedded systems

, allowing effective collaboration with firmware.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience in
capacitive or impedance sensing and ow-power wearable

electronics
- Familiarity with FPGA development and high-speed digital signalling
- Comfort working in early-stage R&D and rapid prototyping environments
- Strong communication and mentoring skills
- Enthusiasm to produce high quality work – we are producing medical
- devices

We know that no candidate meets every single requirement. If you're excited about the role and have strong experience in most of these areas, we'd love to hear from you

Benefits

· Private Medical and Dental Cover

· Life and Health Insurance

· Flexible working environment – 3 days / week required in the office:

flexibility to work remotely at company discretion.

· Free lunch when working onsite

· 25 days annual leave

· 5% Employer Pension Contribution

· Share Options

· Bonus scheme (subject to meeting company milestones and company policy)

and short courses which align with delivering company goals (subject to

managerial approval).

How We Work

We're a close-knit team of scientists and engineers who enjoy taking on complex problems and seeing them through. The hardware group is small and focused where everyone has an equal opportunity to shape both the technology and the culture we work in. We hold ourselves accountable, support one another, and value clear, honest communication over unnecessary process. Growth here comes from doing meaningful work, learning together, and sharing knowledge openly. If you want to build technology

that matters alongside people who are passionate about what they do, you'll fit right in.
