We have a new vacancy based in Shipley for a Senior Buyer FMCG .

Your mission in CMbE

As the UK prepares to launch its Deposit Return Scheme (DRS) in October 2027, we're expanding our team to support this transformative shift in sustainability. We have a new vacancy based in Shipley for a commercially astute and purpose-driven Senior Buyer FMCG to lead procurement initiatives for our Reverse Vending Machine (RVM) programme. This role combines FMCG buying expertise with innovative project management and strategic collaboration.

About you

The successful candidate will bring strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills, underpinned by at least five years' experience in FMCG buying, category management, or procurement. Key to this role is a proven track record of delivering commercial results, managing cross-functional projects, and working with retailers or technology-led solutions. Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills are essential, along with proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools such as Excel and Power BI. Knowledge of procurement best practices, strategic sourcing techniques, and process efficiency methods will enable you to drive value creation and continuous improvement.

Candidates must hold a professional qualification such as CIPS or a degree in supply chain, business, or economics, ideally complemented by technical experience. We're looking for a strategic thinker who can see the bigger picture and align buying decisions with long-term goals. The successful candidate will be commercially savvy, sustainability-minded, and passionate about environmental impact and circular economy principles. The successful candidate will work seamlessly across teams and build strong relationships while thriving in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
