Care/Support Worker - 25 hours per week - Flexibility required - £12.98 per hour - Stoke on Trent -University Support

We're currently recruiting for a Care / Support worker to join one of our small friendly teams of Personal Assistants in the Stoke-on Trent area. The role is primarily to support our client to attend University. I n addition to this, you will be supporting our client in their own home and local community.

Our client has a wide range of interests such as reading & crafting, going to concerts, cinema, and eating out . If you're the type of person who's caring, upbeat, and enjoys helping others we'd love to hear from you

Here at Salvere Support we support individual clients in their own homes. Our small teams of Personal Assistants provide bespoke, person centered care to really make a difference in our clients lives. You'll only be working with one client which enables you to truly get to know them and make a meaningful difference each day

Please note the client has 4 dogs in their family home, which at times you may come into contact with.

Hours: 25 hours per week The shifts typically are on Mon, Tues, Thurs & Friday. (The earliest shift time could be from 8am and the latest shift time could be at 5pm.) Flexibility will be required dependant on the clients

You will be working on a 1:1 as part of a small team.

All training is provided and will consist of e-learning courses, face-to-face sessions, practical training, clinical training and competencies. The training is bespoke to the client and fully comprehensive for meeting their needs. We also provide refresher training on a regular basis, to keep your knowledge and skills current.

Who we are looking for:

You must be self motivated, well organised, reliable and an excellent team player. As well as being a naturally caring and compassionate person, we're seeking Care / Support workers with:

  • An interest in Psychology / Criminology
  • The ability to build a rapport with others easily and provide companionship
  • Personal care, including catheter care experience (not essential)
  • Moving and Handling experience (not essential)
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to scribe clear and accurate notes.
  • Ability to support with domestic duties and food preparation.

You should also have:

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Flexibility to cover annual leave and sickness
