JOB SPECIFICATION
In this position, you will ensure that a range of components and commodities are purchased from our Global supply base to meet Kee Safety strategic aims and objectives in material cost, technical and quality standards, lead times and service levels. You will be a key member of the team, helping to run the day-to-day operations of Material Control. This role involves close communication with the Customer Service and Warehouse Management teams to ensure material and stock availability allowing the Company to provide its world class service to customers. The role will be based in Cradley Heath, with potential to travel to UK Suppliers and other UK Kee Safety sites.

Job Duties

  • To manage, place and progress purchase orders using the MRP system.
  • To progress outstanding orders and ensure parts and components are delivered on time, in line with acknowledged delivery dates.
  • To deal with customer service issues/enquiries, spot trends in sales patterns and respond accordingly.
  • To evaluate and maintain accurate records of suppliers on quality, delivery and price, and maintain accurate records of all supplier details.
  • To source new suppliers based on specific qualification and selection criteria to cater for growth, risk reduction and new products.
  • To contribute to cost saving initiatives to assist the team in meeting their targets.
  • Inventory monitoring to meet Company targets.
  • To provide written and verbal reports to the Material Control Manager as required.
  • To complete any other duty of a project nature that may be required from time to time for the Operations Team/Director.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 1-2 years supply chain experience within a manufacturing/engineering environment.
  • Planning/stock control experience would be advantageous.
  • Must be computer literate and have a practical working knowledge of MRP Systems, Word and Excel.
  • Driving License advantageous.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to build relationships at all organisational levels.
  • Must be able to work as part of a team but will also be able to work on their own initiative, to ensure that all Company Supply Chain goals are met.
  • Strong organisational skills with ability to prioritise tasks.
