Online Maths Tutor – Russell Group University Students or Graduates

Are you a Russell Group university student or graduate passionate about helping young people build confidence and achieve success in their studies? The Shan Academy is seeking dedicated Online Tutors to join our growing team across the UK.

We work with international students in the UK, many of whom are adjusting to a new education system and high academic expectations. Our tutors don't just teach content - they help students rediscover confidence, motivation, and a love of learning. We're looking for tutors who care deeply about both academic progress and wellbeing.

What You'll Do

  • Deliver engaging 1:1 online Maths lessons
  • Choose the age group and level you're most comfortable teaching (KS2, KS3, GCSE, or A-Level).
  • Strengthen students' understanding, problem-solving, and exam technique.
  • Build confidence and resilience through a calm, supportive approach.
  • Track progress, set targets, and provide regular feedback to parents.

Essential Requirements

  • Based in the UK
  • Currently studying at or graduated from a Russell Group university.
  • Achieved Grade A* in GCSE and A-Level in Maths
  • DBS-checked (or willing to obtain).
  • Previous tutoring or mentoring experience.
  • Familiarity with UK exam boards (AQA, Edexcel, OCR).
  • Empathetic, reliable, and passionate about helping students thrive.

Desirable

  • Experience supporting international students or those from diverse backgrounds.
  • Interest in student confidence, wellbeing, and motivation.
  • ESL experience or TEFL certification.
