- Ability to work independently, demonstrating initiative and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of workmanship and customer service.
Responsibilities for the role:
- Carry out skilled and routine maintenance tasks across college properties, including both planned preventive maintenance and reactive repairs to infrastructure, plumbing systems, and fittings/furniture.
- Support College installation projects, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in sourcing materials and equipment to achieve best value and cost efficiency.
- Work in partnership with other Estates team members, providing support to disciplines such as Electrical Engineering when required.
- Quality-assure contractor works when requested and assist in managing the College's water services contract.
- Identify hazards and defects, carrying out appropriate adjustments or repairs to ensure a safe environment for all College users.
- Undertake skilled improvement tasks to maintain, upgrade, and enhance the College estate.
- Engage in relevant training and professional development to maintain up-to-date technical knowledge and health & safety awareness.
