Main Purpose of Job

As the Catering Manager, you will lead the Front of House and Catering team to deliver an outstanding catering and guest experience across all service areas. You will be responsible for overseeing daily Catering and Retail operations, ensuring high standards of food and beverage service, whilst maintaining a seamless customer journey from start to finish. Working closely with Catering and Retail teams, you will manage staff performance, uphold health, safety, and hygiene standards, and foster a positive, professional, and customer-focused work environment. Your leadership will ensure service efficiency and the consistent delivery of excellence in all aspects of front-of-house operations.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the Catering and Front of House teams to ensure every guest receives a warm welcome, exceptional service, and an outstanding guest experience.
  • Oversee and maintain high standards of food and beverage presentation and service across all outlets.
  • Coordinate and manage catering requirements for group bookings, functions, and special events, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery.
  • Conduct regular checks to ensure all front of house and catering areas are clean, well-presented, and compliant with hygiene standards.
  • Ensure all food hygiene, safety, and cleaning procedures are completed accurately, recorded correctly, and meet company and legislative requirements.
  • Monitor and maintain all service equipment, promptly reporting and following up on faults or maintenance issues.
  • Manage stock control, including monitoring daily stock levels, assisting with stocktakes, and supporting ordering processes to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Create, manage, and communicate staff rotas for both the Front of House and Catering teams, ensuring appropriate staffing levels to meet business needs, cover holidays, absences, and busy periods.
  • Handle guest enquiries and feedback in a professional, friendly, and knowledgeable manner, enhancing the overall guest experience.
  • Foster a positive, motivated, and customer-focused team culture through effective communication, training, and leadership.

Additional Duties

  • Undertake any other reasonable management tasks as requested.
  • Attend staff and management meetings as required.
  • Work flexibly, including weekends, evenings, and events, to support business needs.

Legal and Compliance Responsibilities

  • Ensure full compliance with all legal and company requirements, including GDPR, Employment Law, Weights and Measures, and Health & Safety (this list is not exhaustive).
  • Attend all required Health & Safety and Food Hygiene training.
  • Maintain full compliance with the company's Health & Safety and Food Hygiene policies at all times.

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract

Contract length: 7 months

Pay: Up to £14.00 per hour
