What You Will Do
- As Interim Head of Everyday Banking Products you will own the Banks portfolio of Current Accounts, Savings Accounts together with our range of complementary payments and services including FX and Debit Cards. The role spans all the Banks key customer segments including Personal, Private, Small Business, Commercial, Corporate and Partnerships.
- You will own the near term commercial planning and performance for your portfolio of products, making clear recommendations for changes to optimise customer and commercial outcomes, working collaboratively with the Head of Delivery & Controls and Head of Forecasting and Optimisation together with a range of stakeholders from across the Bank.
- You will use data and insight to manage your portfolio of products through the full product lifecycle – from new product development, in-life optimisation to product closure – delivering products that deliver positive customer outcomes and drive commercial growth.
- You will work collaboratively with Product Owners to ensure all technical changes are prioritised in-line with the Banks methodology and aligned to the Banks strategy.
- You will own the risk, controls, conduct and customer outcomes for your portfolio of products working collaboratively with the Head of Delivery & Controls plus first and second line risk teams. You will ensure that key processes within the team are clearly documented in-line with the Banks standards.
- You will drive a positive risk culture in the team ensuring decisions are taken that understand and appropriately mitigate the risks associated with the decision and ultimately drive good customer outcomes.
- You will drive a culture of collaboration across the team and the wider stakeholder ecosystem to ensure the best outcomes for colleagues and customers through a robust engagement and challenge process.
- You will be change maker – always looking for opportunities to improve performance, optimise processes and bring new technology and thinking into the Bank.
- You will manage a range of supplier relationships including Mastercard and third party integrations from a commercial and propositional perspective.
- You will lead and coach a team of Senior Product Managers and Product Managers.
- You will keep your 'finger on the pulse' of trends and opportunities, via customer research and market analysis.
- You will be able to communicate and influence a range of stakeholders – this will include the Banks ExCo and Senior Leadership Team.

What You Will Need
- Strong commercial understanding and management skills.
- Able to create compelling business cases.
- You will be confident at decision making and problem solving, ensuring you take account of different perspectives while assessing and controlling risk.
- You will be able to balance strategic and tactical thinking
- You will be a strong communicator, able to distil complex topics and communicate simple and pragmatic solutions as well as influence senior stakeholders.
- You will be experienced at coaching and mentoring colleagues in product management practices, leading from the front by example.
- You will have line management experience.
- You will be able to work with 3rd party analytical tools (e.g. PowerBI) and excel to provide insight.
- You will be able to drive a collaborative culture across a multi-functional team/wide range of stakeholders.
- Flexible, can-do approach and positive outlook in everything you do.
- Genuine interest in your discipline and desire to make a difference.
- You will need to be organised and great at planning ahead, as well as being able to prioritise and manage your time.
- You will have a deep understanding of Everyday Banking Products
- You will have experience of setting strategy and achieving buy-in from stakeholders
- You will have broad and deep understanding of customer needs, sources of insight and segmentation
- You will have deep knowledge about the latest developments in the Banking market, customer insights and wider innovation we can learn from
- You will have deep knowledge about risk and regulatory developments
