The Head of Finance plays a central role in leading the day-to-day financial operations of JoJo Maman Bébé, ensuring the finance function delivers accurate reporting, robust control and commercial insight that supports business performance and growth.
Reporting to the CFO, the Head of Finance will oversee both core finance (financial reporting, control, audit and cash management) and commercial finance (budgeting, forecasting and business partnering). The role will act as the key interface between Finance and the wider business providing high-quality analysis and challenge to drive informed decision-making.
This is a pivotal role in a multi-channel retail business under private equity ownership, requiring both strong technical leadership and commercial acumen.

Financial Leadership & Control
- Lead the day-to-day running of the finance function, managing both the Finance Manager and Commercial Finance Manager.
- Ensure delivery of accurate, timely monthly management accounts, cashflow forecasts and statutory reporting.
- Oversee audit, tax and compliance requirements, maintaining a robust financial control environment.
- Manage and continuously improve systems, processes and reporting tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Support the CFO in managing external relationships (auditors, banks, investors).
Commercial Finance & Business Partnering
- Lead budgeting, forecasting and reforecasting processes across channels and functions.
- Partner with Trading, Marketing and Operations to deliver actionable financial insight on sales, margin and profitability.
- Drive financial analysis to support pricing, promotions and product investment decisions.
- Support the CFO in preparation of monthly Board packs, focusing on performance commentary, variance analysis and commercial insight.
Strategic Support
- Contribute to the financial planning cycle, supporting medium-term plans and scenario modelling.
- Provide financial input into key strategic initiatives (e.g. logistics optimisation, systems projects, store portfolio decisions).
- Assist the CFO with investor reporting and analysis, ensuring alignment with shareholder expectations.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, develop and mentor the finance team, ensuring clear accountability, collaboration and professional growth.
- Foster a strong performance culture within finance; accurate, insightful, and responsive.
- Build cross-functional relationships and promote finance as a true business partner to all departments.

Skills That Make You Shine
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with proven post-qualification experience in a senior finance leadership role.
- Strong technical accounting background with experience of audit and statutory reporting.
- Proven track record in multi-channel retail or consumer business environments.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling.
- Excellent business partnering ability — confident engaging with senior commercial and operational stakeholders.
- Experience within a private equity-backed or investor-led environment desirable.
- Systems awareness (ERP/reporting tools) and process improvement mindset.
- Commercially astute and analytically rigorous.
- Confident leader and team developer, able to motivate and stretch others.
- Strong communicator; clear, concise and credible across all levels of the organisation.
- Hands-on and adaptable; thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Pragmatic, delivery-focused and comfortable balancing detail with big-picture thinking.
