Role: Senior Payroll Officer

Salary: £38,000 per annum

Location: Colchester, Essex

Your Role

  • Producing and distributing of payroll reporting to the organisation and other ad hoc projects
  • Assisting with all internal and external audits related to payroll
  • Administration related to employee benefits (Pensions, Benefits in Kind (P11D), and Childcare Vouchers)
  • Coordinating with our services and our payroll bureau contact to administer statutory payments e.g. SSP, SMP, SPP etc.
  • Managing Attachment of Earnings Orders with the bureau and handle subsequent payments to local authorities.
  • Completing monthly reporting on payroll costs to Finance and the wider business as required.
  • Calculating additional payments, such as expenses and additional holiday pay.
  • Conducting data interrogation to ensure completeness and consistency of employee records.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Have excellent communication skills – verbal and written
  • Experience with hourly paid employees and with 500+ employees.
  • Experience with benefits in kind and with pension schemes and associated administration.
  • Ability to explain, develop and follow policies and protocols
