We work collaboratively to ensure that staff love working at the College and students love learning. As One HNC we embrace difference, celebrate diversity and understand the complexities and challenges of the modern world. The Governance Professional occupies a unique role within the College. They are responsible for keeping the 'conscience' of the College by providing independent, high-quality guidance on statutory, constitutional, operational, procedural and ethical issues as they affect governance. The Governance Professional is a strategic position responsible for ensuring high standards of governance. Suitable candidates will have the knowledge, skills and confidence to take appropriate action to ensure that the Corporation and its Committees are working efficiently, effectively and within their remit. They provide leadership, advice and support in all governance activities, statutory and regulatory compliance, and external governance relations. In addition, they support the Corporation and its members in evaluating their effectiveness and provide regular updates to the Corporation on relevant developments within the sector. The successful candidate will combine the strategic elements of the role with the operational aspects which include providing clerking support for meetings (including domestic arrangements, collating and circulating papers, and minuting) and taking responsibility for ensuring that the governance business is conducted efficiently. Due to the nature of the role, there is the opportunity for high levels of independence, autonomy, and hybrid working.

If you are inspired by our vision, if you are passionate about making a positive difference through self-disciplined hard work, if you are authentically aligned with our ASPIRE values, if you are humble and honestly self-reflective, HNC may well be the perfect match for you.
