Overview

We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles, ensuring they meet safety and performance standards. Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify faults using schematics and diagnostic tools
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on various vehicle systems, including engine, transmission, brakes, and suspension
  • Utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to assemble, disassemble, and repair vehicle components
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and schematics to facilitate accurate repairs
  • Carry out welding and other fabrication tasks as necessary for vehicle repairs or modifications
  • Maintain detailed records of all work performed in accordance with company standards
  • Assist with routine maintenance tasks such as fluid changes, tyre rotations, and brake replacements
  • Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair procedures and addressing customer concerns effectively
  • Lift heavy components safely during repairs or replacements while adhering to health and safety regulations

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in vehicle repair or maintenance; formal qualifications such as NVQ or City & Guilds in automotive technology are preferred
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues efficiently
  • Proficiency in reading technical schematics and using diagnostic software
  • Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other relevant machinery
  • Knowledge of vehicle assembly processes and routine maintenance procedures
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work effectively in physically demanding environments
  • Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude towards clients
  • Valid UK driving licence is essential for mobility around different work sites
