Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Setter to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and setting up fabrication equipment, ensuring precision and quality in production processes. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in sheet metal work, assembly, and the use of hand tools. The Setter will play a vital part in maintaining efficient operations and supporting the overall manufacturing workflow.

Duties

  • Set up and calibrate fabrication machinery according to specifications and technical drawings
  • Operate hand tools, tooling, and measuring instruments to ensure accurate assembly and fabrication
  • Perform grinding, welding, and other fabrication tasks as required to meet quality standards
  • Conduct inspections of components to verify dimensions and tolerances using basic math skills
  • Assist with the assembly of sheet metal parts and sub-assemblies
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to safety protocols
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues during setup or production processes
  • Document setup procedures and any adjustments made during operations

Requirements

  • Proven experience in fabrication, grinding, welding, or related mechanical roles
  • Strong knowledge of sheet metal work and assembly processes
  • Proficiency with hand tools, tooling, and measurement instruments
  • Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations
  • Mechanical knowledge with an understanding of manufacturing equipment and processes
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately
  • Good organisational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
