London ECY, United Kingdom Ardent Recruitment Full time £60,000 - £150,000 per year

We are partnering with a successful commercial law firm, rated highly in the UK and overseas, to recruit an experienced construction law dispute resolution lawyer for their expanding construction & engineering disputes and risks practice in London. If you are looking to work on complex construction and engineering matters with genuine prospects, high levels of responsibility and client ownership, this could be the ideal next step in your career.

About the Team

  • The practice covers the full spectrum of contentious construction and engineering work — from major infrastructure and energy projects, through built-environment developments and fire safety, to mobility and renewables schemes.
  • The team advises a diversified client base, including developers, investors, contractors, utilities, rail and transport operators, property firms, government bodies and private individuals.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Acting on complex construction and engineering disputes — including adjudication, arbitration, litigation and other dispute-resolution processes.
  • Advising on claims arising from energy projects, infrastructure, utilities, built environment and in connection with fire safety, both domestically and internationally.
  • Handling issues ranging from defects, contract and procurement disputes, delay and disruption, final account negotiations, professional negligence, to risk management across project lifecycles.
  • Supervising and mentoring junior fee-earners, coordinating with experts, and managing high quality cases.
  • Helping to build and maintain client relationships; contributing to business development and supporting the team's growth strategy.

We're Looking For

  • A qualified solicitor (or equivalent) with a strong grounding in contentious construction/engineering disputes and a solid understanding of the industry — from technical construction issues to contract frameworks and project risk.
  • Experience of managing matters end-to-end and supervising more junior team members. Someone who can steer files independently and knows when to escalate.
  • A practical, commercial and solutions-oriented mindset — able to translate legal expertise into commercially viable advice tailored to clients' business context.
  • Proactivity and drive: an appetite for business development, staying current with sector and legal developments, and engaging in team-wide initiatives beyond pure billable work.

Who This Is For

This position is ideal for an experienced construction disputes lawyer at Senior Associate or Director level or equivalent — who wants to step up, broaden their exposure, take on management responsibility and work on significant, high-stakes matters.

If you are looking to join a firm where you can make an impact and grow professionally, this could be the role for you.
