FP&A Manager: Strategic Planning & Transformation

Detailed Responsibilities
1. Strategic Financial Planning & Investor Reporting
- Budgeting & Forecasting Leadership:
Own and drive the end-to-end annual budgeting and quarterly re-forecasting cycles (P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow) across the entire global organization, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and investor expectations. - Financial Modelling:
Develop, maintain, and significantly enhance the Group's dynamic financial model, including detailed scenario planning, sensitivity analysis, and stress testing to assess risks and opportunities against the investment thesis. - Investor Relations:
Prepare high-quality, Board-level and Private Equity investor reporting packs, translating complex financial performance into clear, actionable insights on key value drivers, KPIs, and variance explanations.
2. Performance Analysis & Commercial Insight
- High-Impact Analysis:
Deliver deep, insightful analysis on business performance, including revenue analysis (by client, service line, geography), utilization rates, pricing, and margin analysis. Move beyond "what happened" to advise on "
what should we do next?
" - KPI Development & Monitoring:
Design and implement a robust framework of commercial and operational KPIs (e.g., pipeline conversion, average daily rate, client profitability) and track performance using modern data visualization tools. - Strategic Challenge:
Act as a
constructive challenger
to senior operational leaders, using financial data and commercial logic to drive accountability, optimize resource allocation, and improve EBITDA performance.
3. Transformation, Structure, and Process Design
- Process Architecture:
Lead and champion projects to design, implement, and automate FP&A processes and structures (e.g., rolling forecasts, data governance, budgeting methodology) to ensure the finance function is scalable and fit for a high-growth, multi-entity international business. - System Enhancement:
Drive the continuous improvement of the core FP&A technology stack (e.g., ERP, Planning Software, Power BI/Tableau), ensuring data integrity and enabling self-service reporting for the business. - M&A Integration Support:
Provide financial and process support for M&A activity, including due diligence analysis and leading the financial integration of newly acquired entities into the Group's reporting and planning cycles.
Candidate Profile & Experience Required
Qualifications
- Qualified Accountant:
Fully qualified
(ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent) with a strong technical accounting and reporting foundation. - Post-Qualification Experience:
A minimum of
5 years of Post-Qualified Experience (PQE)
, with significant time spent in a dedicated FP&A role at Manager level or above.
Essential Experience
- PE/Investment-Backed Environment:
Demonstrable experience working within a demanding, fast-paced Private Equity (PE) or Investment-backed organization, understanding the focus on value creation, tight reporting cycles, and exit-readiness. - Consultancy/Professional Services Sector:
Experience in the consultancy or professional services sector is highly desirable, with a strong grasp of metrics like utilization, revenue recognition (e.g., percentage of completion), and resource planning. - High-Change & Transformative Projects:
Proven track record of operating in high-change, transformative environments (e.g., post-acquisition integration, major system implementation, or rapid international scale-up), requiring the ability to design new structure and processes from the ground up. - Advanced Modelling & Systems:
Expert-level financial modelling capabilities (advanced Excel and/or dedicated FP&A software) and a strong understanding of how to leverage BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for superior management information.
