The Impact You'll Have
As a Marketplace Manager for flights based products, you'll be instrumental in shaping the future of our Flight & Insurance products. You'll be a central part of defining and executing an ambitious, customer-centric vision that drives our market share, customer satisfaction, and overall profitability.
You will own the strategy & drive delivery for critical elements of our marketplace for air-based products, connecting the dots between customers & suppliers, as well as selling & managing. You will own our flights marketplace strategy, driving critical improvements to supplier selection, cost of sale optimisation, rate optimisation & resales. You will work closely with our platform teams, bringing your commercial, customer & travel domain expertise to bear to inform the direction of their roadmaps & assure greater success in their delivery.
Your Day-to-day
The accountabilities of the Marketplace team broadly split into 4 categories
Marketplace Strategy & Growth: Building & delivering a proposition, strategy & growth plan for flight based products
- Product Optimization & Performance: Directly configuring our platform & running experiments to optimise & improve our marketplace
- Driving action through insight: Identifying, modelling & proposing specific disruptive initiatives to allow us to solve key customer or supply issues, or to accelerate our pace of scaling.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Bringing teams from across our marketplace closer together to understand, and positively contribute to the growth plan for flight based products
As a marketplace manager in the flights team you will:
- Own the strategy for our flights marketplace & contribute to the wider strategy for growing our flights vertical
- Drive delivery across multiple teams against a single clear plan, making sure that all contributors understand the plan, and their role in delivery
- Be responsible for improving our customer facing flights proposition & driving critical cross-capability initiatives to drive improvements to our rate competitiveness & cost of sale
- Partner closely with the Flight Supply commercial team to analyse marketplace health and performance, focusing on identifying opportunities to improve our product range, pricing, and quality to drive commercial growth.
- Partner closely with our Flight Supply, Search & Checkout platform teams, bringing travel domain expertise and customer & supplier analysis (qualitative and quantitative) to inform their roadmaps on critical projects like flight & supplier selection, flight ancillary display, cost of sale optimisation & flight resales.
- You will analyse customer contact data and feedback in collaboration with our Customer Service teams to pinpoint issues and friction points, proposing targeted improvements to our flights booking journey to increase customer satisfaction and LTV.
Your Skillset
- You are a strong problem solver with a bias for action, capable of breaking down problems & establishing clear, aligned plans that stakeholders at all levels understand, buy into, and understand their role in delivering
- You are naturally curious, and use your network to learn from customer, supplier & colleague inputs to build a fully rounded picture of the problem space
- You have a strong analytical mindset, and are capable of self-serving on analytical problems and combining qualitative & quantitative data to form clear, well-reasoned recommendations and hypotheses
- You have a strong understanding of the travel sector & experience working closely with technical teams
- You have experience working in a digital-first business, and have a deep understanding of how to drive growth in a digital marketplace, considering customers, competitors & suppliers
- You are a strong verbal & written communicator

- Travel experience across multiple points of sale is preferred
