City St George's is undergoing a transformative period of educational change following a strategic merger and the launch of a new institutional strategy. This role supports the Vice-President (Education) in delivering key educational initiatives, including quality assurance, post-merger integration, and strategic educational improvement across the University.

Background

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to shaping the future of education at City St George's. The Assistant Vice President (Education) will play a key leadership role in embedding post-merger integration, enhancing educational outcomes, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

The AVP (Education) will lead and support initiatives in quality assurance, curriculum development, and academic integrity. The role includes chairing key committees, implementing Senate-approved policies, and ensuring alignment with OfS conditions. The postholder will also deputise for the VP (Education) and collaborate with Schools, QUAD, LEAD, and the Students' Union. The appointed candidate will continue hold his/her current academic post on a FTE 0.2 basis (if currently holding a full-time appointment).

Person Specification

Applicants should be senior academics with significant leadership experience in higher education. Essential attributes include strategic insight into the HE sector, strong communication and influencing skills, and a track record of delivering educational improvements. Fellowship of the HEA (preferably SFHEA or PFHEA) and experience in quality assurance and post-merger integration are highly desirable.
