The Role
We are seeking a highly analytical and results-driven Marketplace Manager to set up and manage our e-commerce presence on Amazon and eBay. Under the guidance of the Senior Digital Marketing Executive, the ideal candidate will be responsible for the execution, and optimization of our listings, sales, and performance across these marketplaces to drive growth and enhance brand visibility. Our priority is two-fold: driving maximized performance from our established eBay channel and executing the setup of an Amazon Seller account.
Key Responsibilities
1. Marketplace Growth
- Establish our Amazon Seller Central marketplace and optimize our current eBay Store. Execute marketplace strategies to maximize sales, profitability, and market share.
- Conduct continuous market research and competitive analysis to identify new marketplace opportunities, pricing strategies, and trends.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sales, conversion rates, click-through rates (CTR), Average Order Value (AOV), and Return on Ad Spend (ROAS).
2. Listing Management & Optimization
- Integrate and synchronise product data by leveraging multi-channel tools (e.g., CEDCommerce) to seamlessly pull and update listings from the Shopify master catalog.
- Optimise listings (titles, descriptions, images, A+ Content) to maximize visibility, search ranking, and conversion rates specific to each marketplace (e.g., Amazon SEO).
- Ensure catalogue integrity and maintain 100% compliance with all platform-specific guidelines, policies, and regulatory requirements to prevent listing suppression or account health risks.
3. Advertising & Promotion
- Plan, manage, and optimize Pay-Per-Click (PPC) campaigns (e.g., Amazon Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, and eBay Promoted Listings) to achieve target ROAS.
- Develop and implement promotional strategies, including lightning deals, coupons, bundle offers, and pricing adjustments to boost sales and clear excess inventory.
4. Operations & Performance
- Coordinate with the buying team to ensure optimal stock levels for Fulfillment by Merchant (FBM), and eBay fulfillment methods.
- Manage seller health metrics, including Order Defect Rate (ODR), shipping performance, and customer response time to maintain Top-Rated Seller status.
- Monitor customer feedback, product reviews, and Q&A to identify opportunities for product and listing improvement, coordinating responses as needed.
- Liaise with Customer Service team to support service related metrics.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: 2-3+ years of direct, hands-on experience managing sales channels on Amazon (Seller Central required; Vendor Central a plus) and eBay.
- Platform Mastery: Proven track record of driving sales growth on major e-commerce marketplaces.
- Marketplace Performance Advertising: Expert-level knowledge of Amazon PPC and eBay Promoted Listings.
- E-Commerce SEO: Strong understanding of e-commerce SEO principles, keyword research tools, and product ranking algorithms.
- Analytical Excellence: Proficient in using data to make strategic decisions. Highly skilled in spreadsheet software (Excel/Google Sheets).
- Bachelor's Degree: Ideally in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Desirable (Bonus) Skills
- Experience with other marketplace platforms (e.g., TikTok, Etsy, Shopify integration).
- Google Ads or other PPC advertising proficiency.
- Strong knowledge of plants and horticulture.
- Industry experience.

- Competitive Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 (depending on experience).
- Hybrid Working: Enjoy the flexibility of hybrid-remote working, collaborating with the team in London one day per week. We rotate between co-working offices in Liverpool Street, Soho and Farringdon.
