Howdens Joinery has a great opportunity for an experienced and credible HR Business Partner to join our South East region. Ideally placed in Kent, you will need to be comfortable with travelling across the South East region as you'll act as a trusted partner to the Regional Director, working closely with leaders across the depot network to shape the people agenda and deliver impactful, commercially focused HR support.

We're looking for someone who is confident operating at pace, brings a pragmatic approach to driving business performance, and uses data and insights to influence decisions. You'll be quick to establish credibility, thrive on building strong stakeholder relationships, and play a key role in helping our teams succeed.

What You Will Do In This Role

  • Driving and delivering the people plan across your region
  • Partnering with managers and leaders, coaching, advising, and constructively challenging where needed
  • Driving employee engagement, performance, and talent conversations
  • Leading and supporting change programmes in a fast-moving environment
  • Bringing a commercial, people-first lens to all activity

What We Are Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Strategic HR Business Partner or HR Manager in a fast-paced environment (ideally trade, retail or hospitality)
  • Strong ER background with the confidence to influence and challenge
  • Experience working across field populations delivering projects
  • Hands on and pragmatic when needed
  • A natural relationship-builder and coach
  • Comfortable working independently and making sound decisions
  • CIPD qualified (or equivalent experience)
