Your Mission
Strengthen the Richemont Group Legal team by providing legal advice and assistance in relation to the Group's M&A projects and on its UK commercial matters, focusing on promoting legal and operational excellence and – as part of the 'One Legal Team' within Richemont Group Corporate Affairs – fostering seamless collaboration with other Group Legal teams plus internal and external stakeholders.
HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT?
- Play a key role in supporting the Richemont Group's M&A strategy by advising on and managing legal aspects of transactions throughout their life-cycle from inception to post-merger integration. Alongside the Head Counsel, Group M&A and UK Corporate, you will work closely with Group M&A, supporting the Group M&A Director's team on transactional work (from managing external counsel to actively drafting and negotiating) and providing risk-based legal advice on strategic projects.
- Complementing the transactional work, apply the M&A skillset on commercial legal matters for Richemont's UK business across a wide range of topics to broaden the business perspective.
- Bring confidence and creativity to this position, along with the ability to work independently in a team-oriented environment.
- Provide timely and results-oriented legal advice and support on a wide variety of matters across both M&A and commercial lines of business to the relevant Richemont stakeholders both in the UK and globally.
- Respond to ad hoc queries to include identification, analysis and evaluation of risks in order to provide appropriate legal solutions, including regulatory compliance.
- Draft, review, negotiate, comment on a wide variety of corporate, transactional and commercial documents, including those specific to M&A projects.
- Support the monitoring and management of compliance risks re: legal, sustainability, regulatory, preparation of and adherence to Group policies, procedures, etc. and ensure regular use of and contribution to Group Legal's knowledge management.
- Work in close cooperation with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, including Richemont Functions, Regions and Maison business teams across the Group, and liaise with and manage external counsel.
- Draft, review and contribute to Group Legal memos, guidelines, business rules, processes, where needed in close collaboration with Group Maisons, Functions and/or Regions and the central Group Legal Team.
- Get involved in, contribute to, project-manage – as the case may be – Legal Operations-related projects in line with the agenda set by the Group General Counsel, the Chief Counsel, Richemont and Regions and the Legal Leadership Team.
- Develop and show a strong understanding of and adherence to the Richemont Group values and focus on the ways of working, i.e. "the How" things are done to live up to these values.
HOW WILL YOU EXPERIENCE SUCCESS WITH US?
- Minimum of 3 – 5 years post-qualification experience in providing M&A and / or corporate legal advice on a wide variety of transactional legal matters in a multinational environment (including experience in a reputable international law firm and ideally experience in-house, including on secondment).
- Qualified lawyer with excellent academic credentials.
- Legal experience will include a strong focus on drafting, reviewing, negotiating and project-managing in a highly qualitative and structured way, including experience gained in M&A and corporate work. General commercial experience and business acumen also needed, with experience in commercial real estate and distribution being a plus. Experience in the luxury industry is also particularly valued.
- Solid grasp of the principles of law, including foreign law-related, and an ability to adapt work quickly dealing with different tasks also in fields of law where experience may have been limited so far.
- Key personal strengths include initiative and proactivity, responsiveness, maturity and gravitas, strong stakeholder management capabilities, highest work standards, outstanding oral and written communication skills and the ability to adapt style as required depending on priorities and circumstances, strong analytical skills and focus on detail and structure while preserving effectiveness, keenness to learn, share and work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Ability to identify and seize opportunities for professional development in a self-confident yet respectful manner.
- Native or fluent in English; with French and / or Italian language being a plus.
- Digitally savvy, including routine use of AI with strong prompting capabilities, good command of Microsoft Office (in particular Outlook, Word and Excel) and shared work and project management environments (SharePoint, , any other project management tools / tech solutions)).
