Tamara House Care Home is a warm, supportive and person-centered 29-bed residential care home providing high-quality care for older people, including those living with dementia. We are committed to creating a homely environment where residents feel valued, respected, and truly cared for.
We have an exciting opportunity: we are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and experienced Deputy Manager to join our leadership team and support the Registered Manager in delivering exceptional standards of care.
About the Role
As Deputy Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring residents receive safe, effective and compassionate care. This is a hands-on leadership position, ideal for someone with excellent organisational skills, and a genuine passion for supporting older people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Registered manager in the overall management of the Home
- Lead, support, and supervise staff teams to ensure consistent quality of care
- Oversee care planning. risk assessments, and person centered support
- Support with rota planning, medication oversight, audits, staff development, and liaising with external professionals
- Champion dementia friendly care and promote a positive nurturing environment
- Ensure compliance with CQC standards and relevant legislation
- Maintain excellent communication with residents, families and external professionals
- Take the lead in the Manager's absence and ensure smooth operation across the service
Essential Requirements:
- Experience in elderly care (residential or dementia care essential)
- Strong knowledge of CQC standards and regulatory requirements
- Excellent leadership, communication , and team management skills
- A full UK driving license and access to your own vehicle (travel between sites required)
- Confident in leading teams and managing day-to-day operations
- Compassionate, approachable and committed to person-centered care
- Medication trained and experienced with care planning systems (desirable)
- A Level 4 qualification in Health or Social Care or working towards Level 5
