Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in food production and preparation, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation. As a Line Chef, you will work closely with the head chef to deliver exceptional dining experiences while adhering to food safety regulations and maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment.

Duties

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
  • Assist in the management of kitchen operations, ensuring efficient food production.
  • Supervise and support junior kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the cooking process.
  • Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, assisting in stock management.
  • Ensure that all kitchen equipment is cleaned and maintained properly.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
  • Contribute to menu development by suggesting new dishes or improvements to existing ones.

Skills

  • Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
  • Excellent knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hospitality.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, facilitating effective teamwork within the kitchen.
  • A passion for culinary arts and a desire to continually improve cooking techniques.
  • Familiarity with various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
