Team and role overview
- The wider HR team consists of (i) Reward & payroll, (ii) Talent Acquisition, Development & Global Mobility and (iii) Business Partnering & Talent Management (inc. Operations and D&I).
- This essential role will report to the Reward Director, as part of the HR Reward & Payroll team: a total of 5 team members (3 in Reward & 2 in Payroll).
- The role will support the Reward Director and Reward Manager on global compensation & benefits activities, helping to create a centre of excellence.
- The role will act as a point of contact for stakeholders in the broader HR team, within the business for employees and line managers and external providers.
Purpose
This role is very important within of our Reward & payroll team, which manages all compensation structures, benefit provisions and payroll services including employment taxes. The team operates across all BII locations which currently total 12 in the UK, Africa and Asia. This covers all employees, plus anyone in our early careers programme and global mobility programmes. Delivering BII's reward offering is critical; it forms an important part of BII's Employee Value Proposition (EVP) helping to attract, engage and retain our people and deliver the mission. We are looking for someone with a passion for maximising the employee experience who will enjoy the breadth of work and being in a small, busy team.
Responsibilities
- Ensure BII's global compensation & benefits comply with its Remuneration Framework and all relevant local legislation /regulations.
- Administer BII's global benefits ensuring employee requests to leave, join or change their benefits are captured and actioned promptly with providers, and as necessary with BII payroll.
- Lead on BII global benefit renewals as required, working with broker(s) or direct with provider(s).
- Lead on employee engagement globally with BII benefits and wellbeing programmes.
- Support with any aspect of benchmarking of BII benefits and compensation across all global locations including provision of data.
- Prepare reward data analysis for management or reporting purposes and modelling to support business case for change.
- Work with external advisers to submit the annual UK PAYE Self Assessment (PSA) and Short-Term Business Visitors report to HMRC.
- Support as required with ad hoc projects across reward, benefits and when necessary payroll.

- Strong and demonstrable Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel and modelling.
Desirable skills
:
- Experience of building strong working relationships in a diverse working environment, using active listening skills.
- Understanding how to quality check survey and benchmarking methodologies and assess the factors determining reward.
- Experience of working with external providers and consultants to obtain the best service.
- Experience of and knowledge from working in non-UK markets, in particular Asian and African markets.
- Knowledge of employment legislation.
- Candidates should be strongly motivated by BII's development mission and ideally demonstrate some commitment to development or social goals through previous executive or non-executive activity.
