The Role:

We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Baby Room Practitioner. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in infant development, responsive caregiving, and creating a calm, stimulating environment. You should have a genuine passion for working with babies, a nurturing approach, and the ability to build secure attachments with the youngest children in our care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a key person to a small group of children, maintaining detailed and accurate records of their development, routines, and progress.
  • Provide a warm, responsive, and safe environment that supports the physical and emotional needs of children.
  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate sensory and developmental activities that support all areas of the EYFS.
  • Demonstrate a sound understanding of the specific developmental needs of babies and toddlers.
  • Communicate effectively with parents about routines, milestones, and updates, ensuring strong and trusting relationships.
  • Collaborate with the wider nursery team to ensure consistency and high standards of care across all areas.
  • Support feeding, weaning, sleep routines, and toileting as appropriate to the child's age and stage.
  • Set up and maintain a clean, calming, and engaging baby room environment.
  • Attend all required training and be committed to continuous professional development.
  • Maintain fluency in spoken and written English.
  • Understand and implement food allergy and food safety practices.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working with children under 2 in a nursery setting.
  • Early Years Educator Level 2 or 3 qualification (from the UK) is preferred.
  • In-depth understanding of the EYFS and child development from birth to 2 years.
  • Genuine passion and nurturing approach for working with babies and toddlers.
  • Excellent communication skills and strong relationships with parents and colleagues.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child welfare responsibilities.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK is required.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written).

Location:

Candidates must be able to reliably commute to or plan to relocate near SW6 3LG before starting work.

Additional Information:

Due to the nature of this role, all candidates will be subject to UK eligibility checks and an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
